Cervical cancer is one of the cancer that affect women. It is called cervical cancer because it occurs in the cervix. The cervix is the place where a baby grows during pregnancy. The major cause of Cervical cancer is Human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV spreads through sexual contact.
The woman body is built to fight the HPV. But sometimes the virus leads to cancer. There is a higher risk of HPV causing cancer if you smoke, using birth control pills for a long dleriod of time, HIV infection, or have given birth to many children.
Symptoms
At first, there might not be any sign. But later, pelvic pain or bleeding from the vagina. Cancer cells can be discovered in the cervix through a pap test which is done by a health care professional. You can also have an HPV test. It is advisable for ladies to have regular screening.
Treatment may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination.
