3 Things That Can Damage The Liver

The liver is an important organ in the human body that is responsible for regulating most chemical levels in the blood and excretes a product called bile. This helps carry away waste products from the liver. The liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs.

Generally, the liver performs over a hundred functions in the human body therefore it wouldn't be wise for anyone to do anything that will damage the liver else, there will be a whole lot of impending damage.

So in this article, I will be exposing some of the things you do that can make your lungs not to function very well and might lead to total damage. Some of these activities include:

1. Too much sugar intake:

Too much sugar consumption isn’t just going to give you diabetes as many people fear, or probably damage your teeth, it can also damage harm your liver, too. The liver uses one type of sugar, called fructose, to make fat. Too much refined sugar and high-fructose corn syrup cause a fatty buildup that can lead to liver disease.

2. Overweight

The extra fat can build up in your liver cells and lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and this may cause your liver to swell. It can also harden and scar liver tissue over time. If you have gained too much weight, then it will be wise to start choosing your diet wisely and also engage in some physical activities like exercise.

3. Carbonated drinks

Studies have proven that people who drink a lot of soft drinks are more likely to have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). So if you take carbonated or soft drinks, it will be wise for you to start cutting down on them including your alcoholic beverages.

If you avoid doing these things listed above, then you are leading a life for a healthy liver. Take responsibility for your health today and stay healthy.
