A medical Doctor has warned, especially the female folks, against the swallowing of sperm. While it is true that semen is composed of the likes of vitamin C, cholesterol, protein compounds, zinc and sodium, claiming sperm consumption can contribute to weight gain is more a myth than it is scientific.
A U.K-based Nigerian Medical Consultant, Olufunmilayo Harvey has taken time to advice against the misnomer of ingesting semen often called ‘protein powerhouse’. The medical doctor cum social media influencer took to his twiiter handle, @DrOlufunmilayo, he wrote; ‘swallowing sperm will not give you weight. It has little calories. One teaspoon of semen is about 5 calories which is same as one chewing gum. Totally useless.’
Dr Harvey added that one will need to swallow as much a 5 litres on a daily basis for it to make a little difference on the body.

However, the Doctor’s warning has sparked a lot of reactions leaving some wondering the very essence of semen production. Aside the fact that some believed the 5 litres spelt out by the doctor is not a big deal as it can be gotten on a daily basis, some people have said semen is used as an anti-depressant and mood elevation while others believe it equally serve a purpose in skincare.
