Varicocele also known as scrotum varicose veins is the tortuous dilation (expansion) of the veins that carries deoxygenated blood and waste products from the testes back to the heart, hence these waste products remain and damage the sperm that is formed in the testes.
It leads to a rise in the temperature which further damages the sperm cells and results in what the doctors call the OligoAsthenoTeratozoospermia syndrome which means the sperm count is reduced, they cannot move well and they appear abnormal.
It is a very common case found in over 1.5 million Nigerians per year.
Varicocele is chronic and can last for years or be lifelong.
A varicocele may develop as a result of poorly functioning valves normally found in veins. In other cases, it may occur from compression of a vein by a nearby structure.
Fortunately varicocele is Treatable by a medical professional by means of a minor surgery which if successful will give the testes a chance to breathe fresh air and produce better sperm cells.
As a precaution, kindly touch ur scrotum and see if u feel something that feels like a "bag of worm" as it is called.
Save ur sperm cells today, save ur generation. Seek help on time before it becomes too late
