Kaur Haarman is a social media Influencer, model and motivational speaker born in Slough on 29 November 1990. At the age of 12, Kaur was diagnosed of (PCOS), which is because of elevated androgens (male hormones) in females.
One of the side effects of PCOS is Hirsutism is the ability to grow excessive facial and body hair. Kaur can grow a full facial hair because of her condition. According to Kaur, she attempted to remove her beards 🧔 because of steady harassment from people. However, she has grown to embrace her unconventional appearance and has become a spokesperson for body positivity movement.
In an interview with Rock N Roll Bride, Kaur reflects on her decision to keep her beard: "I decided to keep my beard and step forward against society’s expectations of what a woman should look like. Today I am not suicidal and I do not self harm. Today I am happy living as a young beautiful bearded woman. I have realised that this body is mine, I own it, I do not have any other body to live in so I may as well love it unconditionally."
In interviews and via social media, Kaur references the maltreatment and provocation she got as a youngster that prompted her self-hurt and attempted suicide. In 2017, Kaur spoke in the House of Parliament on subjects identifying with psychological wellness, self-perception, cyberbullying, LGBTQIA and how internet based life, organizations, schools, and how the government can help with the advancement of positive body images.
