Everyone Should Avoid Arthritis By Staying Away From These 4 Things

Arthritis is a term that is used to describe around 200 conditions that affect joints, the tissues that surround the joint, and other connective tissue. Studies have shown that more than 50 million adults have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. This goes to a large extent to show how arthritis has saturated our society. 

Arthritis simply means joint inflammation. The most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis. Arthritis is not an isolated disease as there are many several types of joint disorders with their distinct symptoms. So many people believe that arthritis only affects children but this is not true. Studies have shown that people of all ages may be affected as seen in children. 

There are different signs of arthritis. Some of them include; 

.Joint pain.

.Stiffness especially when you wake up or after sitting for a while.


.Lack of movement.

.Grating which is a condition where you might feel things rubbing together inside your joint.

.Bone spurs ( lumps of bone that form around the joint).

Different things can lead to the development of arthritis. Some of them include;

1. Alcohol

Alcohol is one of the triggers of arthritis. Since alcohol contains a lot of calories and added sugar, its daily consumption can lead to heightened body fat and weight gain, which can also exacerbate arthritis symptoms. Alcohol can also trigger gout which is a painful condition that results from the buildup of excess uric acid in the blood. Reduce your Intake of alcohol for the sake of your health. 

2. Salt

Salt adds taste to our food and is wonderful additives but excess consumption of salt can inflame joints. Too much intake of salt can also lead to fluid retention, leading to decreased range of motion in the joints. If you have hypertension and arthritis, reducing your salt intake will go to a large extent to help you. 

3. Fried and processed foods

Consumption of fried and processed foods can trigger arthritis because they contain many known carcinogens. Many foods that come fried also contain an amount of heavily processed ingredients. All of these will cause inflammation by triggering the body's defence mechanisms, which will set off an arthritic flare-up. Reducing your intake of fried foods can greatly help in lessening your risk factors for some disease. 

4. Dairy

Dairy is another food that can cause arthritis. This is because they contain a high level of protein casein. This type of protein triggers inflammation and pain in the joints, and may even contribute to irritation around the joints. Too much intake of dairy can also increase the risk of prostate cancer in men hence reduce your intake of it.
