Why Eating Tomato Helps Reduce The Risk Of Heart Diseases And Prostate Cancer

What are cardiovascular diseases and what is their ultimate effect on human beings? You might not have the answer to this question but as you read on, more will be said on the topic, linking tomatoes to it as a food that can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and prostate cancer is what intrigues me, well, left to me I'd put tomatoes on a higher platform than many other foods/fruits on the basis that it looks so ordinary but it is so beneficial to your health and mine.

On a more local scale, tomato is used to cook stew, soups and to prepare some other dishes, for example, most pizzas have a tomato base. We might consume an abundance of the fruit without even knowing it and it gets into our body with its nutrients and antioxidants to do wonders for us, mostly preventing health issues.

These are also called heart diseases, the term is used to describe heart issues that include diseased vessels, blood clotting, and structural problems, they are of different types and they have their different names, some of which are hypertension, heart failure, cardiac arrest, coronary heart disease, stroke and so many more.

Prostate Cancer.

Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that affects the prostate of men, the prostate is the gland charged with the duty of producing seminal fluid, some cancers spread rapidly while others spear slowly but either way, cancer is lethal and detrimental to humans, cancer has many times lead to the death of the victims involved, so, this is a wake-up call to avoid the disease by every possible means.

Having briefly described both prostate cancer and heart/cardiovascular diseases, it is only logical that I show the links between them and tomato consumption, tomato has a powerful antioxidant, lycopene, this antioxidant is what helps reduce the risk of both prostate cancer and heart diseases (Soured from eatthis.com)

This antioxidant is contained in tomatoes and other fruits like watermelon, grapefruit, and papaya, it is responsible for the red colour of tomato (and the above-mentioned fruits) and it is a bright red carotenoid hydrocarbon.

Lycopene is said to bring great improvement to heart health as well as reducing the risk of certain cancers, in this case, its function coming from tomato is to help reduce the risk of heart diseases and prostate cancer.

If you need to eat tomatoes to prevent the above-mentioned health issues then the foods mentioned above can be eaten moderately as they contain tomato which contains lycopene or you can as well decide to eat tomato alone.
