Nigeria Records 49 New Covid-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has registered another 49 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total caseload to 165,901.

According to reports, no new death linked to COVID-19 was recorded in the past 24 hours.

The public health agency also noted that the newly recorded infections raised the country’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 165,901 and the death toll from the disease remains at 2,067.

Federal Government Sets Up Nine-man Panel To Address Kaduna State

In a move to resolving the labour crisis occasioned by the sacking of over fouty-five thousand workers in Kaduna State, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, set up a nine-man bipartite committee comprising six representatives of the state government and three officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

According to reports, the said committee is expected to engage further with the objective of reverting with a work plan on how to integrate the provision of Section 20 of the Labour Act, CAP L1 LFN, 2004, to resolve the impasse between the state government and the NLC.

"Nigerian Government Is Not Doing Enough"- Archbishop Onaiyekan

Archbishop Emeritus, his Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan has accused the federal government of not doing enough.

According to him, he said that the government should give Nigerians a forum to dialogue. Onaiyekan also added that nobody gains anything during conflicts or war.

He stressed that society’s problems would not be solved by war, noting that it will only escalate.
