The greatest enemies of success and happiness are negative emotions of all kinds. It's negative emotions that hold you down, tire you out and take away all your joy in life. It's negative emotions, from the beginning of time, that have done more harm to individuals and societies than all the plagues of history. One of your most important goals, if you want to be truly happy and successful, is to free your negative emotions, and fortunately, this can be done, if you learn how. 1. Self Pity:
This is a negative emotion directed towards others with the goal of attracting attention, empathy, or help and one in which the subject feels sorry (feels pity) for themselves. Although the primary focus of self pity is on the self and one's own emotions but it has a strong interpersonal component as well. It's also common for some people suffering from self pity to deflect criticism of themselves; they are usually incapable of self reflection and blame their bad situation on external factors such as badluck or other people's supposed resentment.
You need to understand that no one is responsible for your unhappiness, happiness, failure or success except you. Remember that you are the driver, controller, navigator and master of your own life. You need to stop the self pity party because no one is willing to attend such party. Stop the self pity and start living your life.
This is a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone's else possessions, qualities, or luck. Envy is a negative emotion when a person lacks another's superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it. Aristotle defines envy as "pain at the sight of another's good fortune, stirred by those who have what we ought to have".
This emotion called envy can really wear you down and keep you from becoming the best of what you are supposed to be. If you want happiness to be a part of your life, you need to send packing from your life the spirit of envy and unhealthy jealousy. Remember no one is like you because you are created for a reason and for a purpose by God.
3. Inferiority Complex:
This is a term used to describe people who compensate for feelings of inferiority (feeling like they are less than other people, not as good as others, worthless, etc) by acting in ways that make them appear superior. They do this because controlling others may help them feel less personally inadequate.
Inferiority Complex as a negative emotion comes from someone having a low self-esteem, self-value and self-worth. When you know your true self esteem, value and worth, then you won't be tempted to feel inferior to anyone or to anything.
Anger is a normal, healthy response to a threat and many be used for a constructive purpose. But when anger becomes uncontrollable, it becomes a negative emotion or energy that can consume you. Anger also known as rage, is an intense emotional state involving a strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat. Anger have many physical and mental consequences which are increased heart rate and high blood pressure among others.
You don't need to let this negative emotion called anger to control your life if you want to be happy in life. Know how to manage it before it manages you and makes you miserable.
