Health Effects And Risks Of Abortion

Abortion is when a pregnancy is ended, without the natural birth of the child, or the removal of an embryo or fetus.

There are two major types of Abortion

1. Miscarriage

An abortion that occurs without any intervention is called a miscarriage

2. Induced Abortion

An abortion deliberately done to terminate or end the pregnancy is called an induced Abortion

Abortion is the major causes of maternal death, especially in the developing world, abortion is legal only in specific cases such as rape, problems with the fetus Etc.

Reasons why people carry out abortion:

Most people carry out abortion due to inability to afford for a child, lack of support, domestic violence, not being willing to raise a child conceived as a result of rape and incest, insufficient economic support for families, disapproval of early motherhood.

Health side effects:

1. Fatigue

2. Sore breasts

3. Nausea and vomiting

4. Abdominal cramps

5. Light vaginal bleeding

They can sometimes result to serious complication, infection is one of the complications due to incomplete abortion. Symptoms of infections include fever, strong smelling, severe pelvic pains and vaginal discharge.

" Having an abortion will not affect your chances of becoming pregnant, and having normal pregnancies in the future or increase the risk of breast cancer or mental health issues".

But there's a very small risk to your fertility and future pregnancies, if you develop an injury or womb infection that is not treated quickly. The infection could spread to your fallopian tube and ovaries known as

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease ( PID)

Can increase the risk of infertility, but such infection are meant to be treated before they reach this level.

Hope you learnt something from this.

My advice to you reader, stop deliberately abortions who knows, the fetus might be someone great tomorrow.
