According to Healthline and Mayoclinic, if you are trying to conceive, it is important to be mindful of your diet and avoid certain foods that can potentially affect your fertility. These are some foods you should avoid or limit.

1. Processed foods

Highly processed foods are often high in sugar, unhealthy fats, and refined carbohydrates, which can negatively impact fertility. Instead, focus on whole, unprocessed foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

2. High-mercury fish

Certain types of fish, such as shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish, can contain high levels of mercury, which can harm a developing fetus. Go for low-mercury fish such as salmon, trout, and sardines.

3. Alcohol

Consuming alcohol can decrease fertility in both men and women. Women who are trying to conceive should avoid alcohol altogether, and men should limit their intake.

4.Trans fats

Trans fats are found in many processed foods such as baked goods, fried foods, and snack foods. These fats can increase inflammation in the body and negatively impact fertility.

5. Caffeine

Consuming large amounts of caffeine can negatively affect fertility in both men and women. It is good to limit caffeine intake to no more than 200 milligrams per day, which is roughly equivalent to one cup of coffee.
