The plateau state government has ordered the closure of its borders to neighboring states which will take effect from Thursday 2nd of April 2020, this is coming shortly after the government of Ondo state blacked every access into and outside the state indefinitely.
Secretary to the state government prof. Danladi Atu in an press briefing said there will be no entry or exit into the state except those on special duties who will be cleared by the security personnel and undergo preliminary test by health workers.
According to him the measure will aid the state government in the fight to curtail the spread of the virus to the state since the state has not recorded any case of covid19 till now.
The state government spoke person also discloses the donations received in cash and food item to aid the less privileged while the nation battles to contain the coronavirus pandemic, according to him medical equipments has been pouring in with a leading financial institution which he prefer to keep confidential donating #28.5million while the academic staff union of universities in the state (ASUU) donated hand sanitizers and enlightenment materials to fight the civic19 pandemic.
Danladi advises the state to stay safe and observe every precautions he admonishes the individual to report any body with suspected symptoms of the virus to health workers or security personnel closest to them.
According to him the state government will ensure the safety of the state at all cost and do its best to avoid the spread of the corona virus pandemic into the state.
