The Saving One Million Life Programme for Result in Kwara State has been lauded for their active work to reduce mortality rate in the state of Harmony.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Health in the state, Dr Raji Abdulrazaq gave the applause during the third quarter technical consultative meeting (TCG) held at the State Ministry of Health.
Commenting on the evidence-based reports made available to him about the activities of Saving One Million Life Program for Results, the newly sworn in Commissioner commended the drivers of the scheme for ensuring that it yeilded good results for the state as a whole.
He affirmed that the just concluded National Health Facility Survey and National Nutrition and Health Survey of 2019 would show improvement following various activities that have been conducted to improve quality of care index and coverage for mother and child.
"Although the program was designed to round up this year. But there is hope for extension so that more progress on improving utilization and quality of Maternal Health, Child Health and Nutrition intervention can be achieved" he said.
Also, the Program Manager for Saving One Million Life Program, Dr Ibrahim Umar appreciated the State Government for taking ownership of the program which has helped to develop the Health sector and improve health service delivery in the state. He promised the continuous support of the service to Kwarans.
