We are all encouraged to be healthy, young and old, boys and girls alike, but how can we be healthy? It all starts with creating healthy habits. Healthy habits can make you stronger and happier. Think of your body as a car that needs good, quality fuel to run well. You can't put juice or soda and expect it to work. Just like a car, you need to fill your body and mind with good, nourishing foods, thoughts, and actions to make it function well.
When you do something repeatedly until it comes naturally to you, you are said to have formed a habit. Having a healthy habit requires consistent and persistent action from you. Healthy habits can help you feel strong, create good relationships with people around you, help you concentrate in school, and also give you the daily boost you need to do all sorts of things.
Below are healthy habits for children.
Healthy eating: This is all about feeding your body with fresh, healthy, and nutritious foods. This includes vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, legumes, dairy, lean meat, and fish. Also, drink plenty of water.
Physical Activity: A combination of healthy, nutritious meals and physical activity is good for your body and mind. Being active for a minimum of 60 minutes each day is important.
Sleep allows your body and mind to restore, rebuild, rest, and repair itself.
