It is not enough to be a performer in governance if one does not have formidable team members with similar convictions and positive mindsets to move the nation forward. When the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu appointed Prof. Akin Abayomi as his Health Commissioner, the people of Lagos knew they were in safe hands.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi has been on top of the situation by making recommendations to contain its surge, putting facilities in place to reduce its prevalence, and personally giving prompt medical sensitization programs to Lagosians on the dangers, preventive measures and care about the deadly virus.
Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on his part proves to be a listening and responsible team leader who respects the opinions of his State Executive Council. He made sure he put all the medical facilities in place as recommended by Prof. Akin Abayomi and that is one of the reasons Nigeria has been able to manage the first and second waves of the coronavirus pandemic and they are already managing this 3rd wave.
