Sleep has been seen as the twin brother of death as some have always been on the lookout for the connections between sleep and death. Some say it is a smooth way to pass. This occurrence happens to both the young's and old but the older people are affected by this the more because they suffer from one health challenge to another.
Here today, I will be sharing with you reasons why people die in their sleep. This is not supposed to install fear in you in any way but rather, it is meant for enlightenment purposes and it will advise you on what to do if you want to live long. Please take a seat and read till end.
Why do people die in their sleep?
This could as a result of some health complications that are listed as follows;
1. Carbon monoxide poisoning
CO - Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas that can cause a lot of harm to the human body if too much of it is breathed into the lungs. And unless you are using a carbon monoxide detector, you may not notice its presence. It can be found in the fumes from running cars, gas ranges, furnaces, grills, stoves, water heaters, fireplace, dryer, and so on. It is the most reason why people die while sleeping in their car with the AC on. This is becomes very dangerous especially when the blood that flows in the body carries too much toxic like Carbon monoxide than oxygen and it can lead to shock or ultimately death.
2. Cardiac Arrest
This condition is attributed to the heart and it is a medical condition called Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). This attacks occur when a blood vessel (or coronary artery) supplying the muscle tissue becomes obstructed and the tissue supplied is damaged or dies. These myocardial infarctions may range from minor events that slightly compromise function to catastrophic blockages that lead to the heart’s complete failure as a pump.
An irregular heart rhythm may lead to a clot that travels to the brain and causes a stroke. Also, high blood pressure, or hypertension, may increase the risk. If a stroke impacts the brainstem, breathing, eye-opening, muscle control, and general consciousness may be compromised. Strokes may be fatal this occurs in sleep, it can cause death.
4. Sleep Disorders
It is possible for death in sleep to occur due to a few other disorders, including some sleep conditions. For instance, seizures may be fatal. Also, there is a condition known as Sudden Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) that is not fully understood, but it can also cause
5. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)
This is the most common of all types of sleep apnea. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is on the common reason why many people die in their sleep. It causes one’s breathing to stop and start repeatedly while sleeping it also causes blockage in the airway during sleep and that's why there is the term "Obstructive" in its name. therefore, OSA is a serious medical condition.
It pays to know these things early enough so to stop circumstances that can lead to sudden death.
