Coconut is another darling in terms of important nutrients such as manganese, copper, selenium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, calorie and saturated fat.

Interestingly enough, many Nigerians seem to have realised the combined health benefits of the trio for many years, especially in the northern part of the country where they are blended and drank as a potent medicine for various conditions. But before we talk about the health benefit of the mixture, let's quickly see how we can make the drink.

INGREDIENTS:

1. A cup of tiger nuts (soaked for 24-48 hrs).

2. A handful of dates (remove the seeds inside).

3. A fresh coconut

4. Sugar or Honey

5. Ginger

DIRECTIONS:

1. Wash the previously soaked tiger nuts and dates thoroughly.

2. Unshell or break the coconut and wash it.

3. Pour the tiger nuts into a blender, add a generous amount of water and blend.

4. Add the dates and coconut into the blender.

5. Add a washed ginger and blend till smoothness is achieved.

5. Place a sieve over a bowl and pour the blended mixture over it.

6. Once the mixture has been fully drained, squeeze the bottom of the sieve to release the rest of the milk.

7. If you desire, you may add sugar or honey (not advisable to add sugar).

8. Pour the milk into clean containers or bottles and store it in the refrigerator.
