Six Foods every High Blood Pressure Patients Should Consume

High blood pressure or hypertension Is a preventable risk factor for heart disease.

High blood pressure occurs when the systolic blood pressure is more than130 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure is more than 80 mmHg or both are more than the specified values.

High blood pressure can be medically controlled with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, which are commonly used to reduce blood pressure levels.

However, dietary changes can help reduce blood pressure levels to normal ranges and reduce your risk of heart disease.

#1. Bananas:

Banana contains a large amount of potassium, a mineral that helps to manage hypertension. Potassium helps to reduce the effect of Sodium on the heart and reduces tension on the walls of the blood vessels.

#2. Watermelon:

This fruit contains citrulline, an amino acid that may help to manage high blood pressure. The body produces nitric oxide with the help of citrulline. Nitric oxide is a gas that relaxes the blood vessel and encourages flexibility in arteries.

#3. Garlic:

As a natural antibiotic and antifungal food. The main ingredient in garlic is Allicin which is often responsible for associated heart benefits. Garlic increases the production of nitric oxide in the body which helps to relax the smooth muscle and the blood vessel to dilate, thereby reducing hypertension.

#4. Oats:

High consumption of beta-glucan fiber may lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by reducing cholesterol levels.

#5. Carrots:

Carrots contain a high level of phenolic compounds such as caffeic that help relax the blood vessels and reduce inflammation, which may help lower blood pressure levels.

#6. Citrus fruits:

Citrus fruits including grapefruit, oranges, and lemons may have a powerful blood pressure-reducing effect. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and some plant compounds that may help keep your heart healthy by reducing heart disease risk factors like high blood pressure.
