We all know that fish is both delicious and healthy. Fish can serve as either a power food or an inflammatory, to your body, all depending on what fish you choose. However, there are certain fish that will do you more harm than good.

However, here are 6 kinds of fish you shouldn't eat

1) Imported Catfish

When catfish features a lot in your diet, you consume more omega-6 fatty acids in your diet than the protective omega-3 fatty acids. Catfish has a very low amount of mercury, which is very toxic to the human body. Excessive consumption of catfish could increase the chances of developing cardiovascular diseases.

2) Mackerel

Mackerel contains mercury, which is not cleared from but accumulated in the human body, causing various diseases. The Atlantic mackerel is the least dangerous in this regard, and you can eat it as much as you like.

3) Tilapia

Tilapia is loaded with omega-6 fatty acids, which we already eat too much of in our modern society. Excess omega-6 can cause and exacerbate inflammation so much that it makes bacon look heart-healthy. Inflammation can lead to heart disease and also exacerbate symptoms for people suffering from asthma and arthritis.

4) Tilefish

Even though the tilefish population is healthy, Mercury levels in tilefish are elevated to the point where they're not safe to eat.

5) Tuna

Tuna fish accumulate toxic mercury in their flesh as a result of industrial pollution, and the side effects of mercury poisoning include finger curling, cognitive impairment, and coordination problems.

6) Pangasius

Reports in the media have suggested that pangasius is 'highly toxic' because the fish is able to survive in the 'heavily polluted Mekong River'. What's more, they allege that this fish contains high levels of pesticides and chemicals from veterinary treatment.
