Nigeria has just received the first shipment of covid-19 vaccine.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) made this information known to the public in her media post on Tuesday, 2nd March, 2021.
According to the information as posted in the NCDC Official facebook page, the first shipment contains four million doses of the vaccine.
The information reads:
"368 days after Nigeria detected her first case, we are pleased to receive our first shipment of 4million doses of covid-19 vaccine....we are grateful to the Covax facility for this timely intervention".
This news has however sparkled reactions of Nigerians as many people respond in different ways.
Some commend the new development and wish that the government should share the vaccine to reach everyone.
One Attah Sunday, a facebook user wrote; "Good to hear, and it will also be good that Nigerians watch out for the sharing formula".
Comments from others, however, reveals that some people have fear, distrust and skepticism for the vaccine. Such category of people are of the opinion that they are not going to take the vaccine.
Some other people are of the opinion that the vaccine has some economic purposes.
