Warning Signs That You Have Asthma

Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the airways to the lungs. It makes breathing difficult and can make some physical activities challenging or even impossible. Asthma occurs because of inflammation and mucus in the lining of the airways. During an attack, this commonly causes a wheezing or whistling sound when you breathe but can cause other symptoms. The type of asthma that you have can determine which symptoms you experience. Some people experience symptoms consistently throughout the day. Others may find that certain activities can make symptoms worse.

According to Healthline, the following are the symptoms of asthma:

1. Tightness in the chest

2. Wheezing

3. Difficulty in breathing

4. Coughing

5. Increased mucus production

6. Chest pain

When To See a Doctor

You’ll need to see a healthcare provider to find out if you have asthma or some other condition. There are other respiratory diseases that make it hard to breathe or cause coughing and wheezing.
