It is native to Minas Gerais , Goiás and São Paulo states in Brazil and other south American countries
The tree is majorly known for its purplish-black, white-pulped fruits which grows
directly on the trunk. They can be eaten raw or be used to make jellies, jams, juice or wine depending on your choice.
Its flowers are white and grows directly from its trunk too and the tree fruits several times a year.
leaves are salmon-pink when young but turns green as they mature.
The tree is a slow-growing evergreen tree that can reach a height of 15 meters if its not pruned.
It grows very tall and fruits all the way up
