Aderonke Makinde, 35, "was charged on Tuesday at the Ogba Magistrates' Court in the Ikeja district of Lagos State with allegedly caning Oyinkansola Kayode, 9, at her school, Westgate Land Emperial Creche, Nursery and Primary School in the Mushin district of Lagos State." Source stated.
"Makinde is accused of assault on one count and was arraigned before Magistrate E. Kubenje." Source stated.
"The defendant committed the offense on March 28, 2023," according to police prosecutor Ajayi Kehinde, a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
According to PUNCH, That you, Aderonke Makinde, "assaulted one on March 28, 2023, at the Westgate Land Emperial Creche, Nursery and Primary School at No. 1 Okesanya Street, Papa-Ajao, Mushin, Lagos State in the Lagos Magisterial District did assault one Oyinkansola Kayode, nine-year-old by flogging her with a cane and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
"But the accused entered a plea of innocence to the charge leveled against him." PUNCH reports.
PUNCH further reported, "The defendant was given bail in the amount of N50,000 by the magistrate, E. Kubenje, with one surety in the same amount."
"On June 7, 2023, the lawsuit was postponed." Source added.
