The chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), said governors were currently looking at the legal and policy implication of the issue as they await the apex court’s decision on VAT controversies.

Recently, There have been controversies surrounding the collection of VAT after the Rivers Division of the Federal High Court, on August 10, ruled that Rivers, rather than the FIRS, was constitutionally empowered to collect and utilize VAT proceeds.

However, So many Nigerians are anxious about knowing if Supreme Court led by Ibrahim Tanko Will Listen to what Governor Kayode Fayemi is saying about VAT.

Nevertheless, in my own opinion, I will say since the Supreme court is the apex court in Nigeria and it is responsible for giving a final verdict to any case they will be in the best position to know how to handle the Value added tax collection through the help of the Nigerian Constitution.

Lastly, I also believe that in no distance time Supreme court will give a final verdict concerning Value Added Tax.
