Today, to mark the remembrance of the unfortunate incident last year, Nigerians are meeting around the Lekki toll gate area. The big brother Naija star shared a video of her with other Nigerians as she shared her experience during the protest last year.

According to Alex, “It's been one year since I ran for my life at Lekki toll gate, one year since a panic attack I never knew I would survive, one year since the government tried to send us to psychiatric homes calling us blind liars in broad daylight and with our perfect sight. One year since the madness and we are yet to know who gave the order as it is being swept under the carpet and forced to stay there".

She continued by saying, “You've carried out an aggressive, repeated intentional behavior involving an imbalance of power aimed toward a group of individuals who cannot easily defend themselves and that's bullying. I'll still go-ahead to be the change that I want to see and I'm sure many others will".

She encouraged other Nigerians who were able to come out today and also those who could not come out due to fear of what happened last year repeating itself. In the video, Alex was seen carrying a dirty Nigerian flag and according to her, she cannot raise a clean Nigerian flag today due to the events that took place on the 20th of October 2020.
