It appears that some people have had enough of the negative effects the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Although, IPOB was proscribed, yet the members of the group still engage in some activities with the Sit-At-Home order being one of the most troubling things they do. Just recently, reports revealed that IPOB directed some Northern States in the Middle Belt region to join its Sit-At-Home order in solidarity with the group. But, this directive did not go down well with Arewa Youths Consultative Forum. The Forum through its Chairman, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, condemned that directive by IPOB vowing to resist the move. This article will discuss two actions they plan to take as they move against IPOB from dragging northern states in its Sit-At-Home.

They plan to work the Governors to take resistant actions against IPOB. This resistant actions will include the Arewa Youths who are ready to counter IPOB, security agents in the Northern States, the vigilante and other groups that would like to join hands to counter IPOB's activity and infiltration in the Northern states. The major reason the Arewa youths want to work with the Northern Governors is because they want to ensure that their actions have the backing of the government. This will make them not to be seen as illegal group or as a group engaging in illegal or violent activities.

Again, the Arewa youths also plan to take action against people that obey IPOB's order in solidarity with the group. By this, the Arewa youths vowed that they would ensure that the Governors of the states concerned seal the shops of those who obey the order and never release the shop to the people again. It means that the shops and business premises of those that would obey the IPOB's order would be taken over by the state governments in the states involved.
How effective will these two measures be in countering IPOB?
It would be recalled that some Governors of South East States such as Governor Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State) and Governor Willie Obiano (Anambra State) had vowed to counter IPOB by threatening to seal and take over the shops of those that obey the Sit-At-Home order.

The Governors also warned that civil servants that fail to show up at work will lose payment and get fired too. All these measures were to ensure that people ignore the order given by IPOB. But, it appears that the Governors did not carry out their threats. This may be after they faced some backlashes as it concerns providing enough security for the people who usually get attacked by hoodlums believed to be enforcing IPOB's order.

While South East Governors may be planning on better ways to counter IPOB and ensure that people totally disregard the Sit-At-Home order, it would also be nice for the Arewa youths to review the two actions above and plan with their Governors of better as well as more effective ways to resist IPOB. This is because the two approaches above may not be very effective as they may also face backlashed from their people when the time comes just like Umahi and Obiano.
