Umar Ibrahim, from Gombe State, was one of the 2019 Batch B, NYSC Corp member. After completing his university degree from the prestigious Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State, he was posted to Bauchi State to serve his father's land.
He underwent his 3 weeks mandatory orientation programme at the WAILO orientation camp, Bauchi State, where he discharged his duty as parade commander in the camp.
Ibrahim first got people's attention on social media in 2019 when he posted his picture taken while he was leading a parade exercise at his orientation camp. A fellow Corp member at the time created a Twitter thread for serving Corp members to share basic information about their service.
Then Ibrahim posted the picture which got many people praising him for his dedication towards the nation building exercise. And from his Twitter post later in the year, we were informed that he concluded his NYSC service on June 2019, and was issued a certificate of completion.
A long time has passed since then, but a certain Twitter user posted the iconic picture of Ibrahim in which he was energetically leading the parade exercise in his NYSC orientation camp back in 2019, and asked, "where is this guy now?"
The picture again stirred mixed reactions as many social media users have one or two things to say about the picture and its subject. While many people praised Abdullahi for the sheer passion he displayed in his performance, some other people tend to make jest of him with different kinds of joking expressions.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim got to see the post of the man who asked about how well he is doing now, and replied, "I'm here. Happy and thankful!"
While Ibrahim maintained that he's happy and thankful, he however said he is currently unemployed.
