Parade protest

Photos: Protest Rocks Lagos-Ibadan Expressway After Cows Cause Accident

A massive protest is currently ongoing on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway after some cows collided with a truck on the road. Dozens of truck drivers stormed the expressway with their vehicles. They blocked movement from both sides, causing serious traffic jams on the road.

The drivers said the excesses of Fulani herdsmen on the road is worrisome. Their cows are causing accidents on a daily basis. The drivers are calling upon the South West Governors' Forum to implement the ban on open grazing in the region.

One of the drivers who spoke with journalists said it is so sad that in the 21st century, cows are still roaming the streets and highways. He urged the government to find a solution to the issue of Fulani herdsmen and their cows before it's too late.

Recall that the South West Governors' Forum banned open grazing in the region two months ago. However, the law has not been implemented in most of the states in the region.
