Rapper and actor, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz and Comedian Debo Adebayo popularly known as Me Macaroni have joined the car procession at the END SARS Memorial protest at Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
The two had earlier announced a car procession to mark one year anniversary of the END SARS protest.
Falz and Mr Macaroni took to their respective verified Instagram pages to make the announcement. They both shared e-fliers of the car procession planned to hold on Wednesday, October 20 at Lekki toll gate which is today.
Sharing the e-fliers on their separate Instagram accounts, Falz and Mr Macaroni wrote, "It is impossible for us not to memoralize our fallen heroes. We will never forget.
"Innocent Nigerians citizens waved flags and sang till they were shot at, injured and killed. We must never forget.
"We're rolling up in cars tomorrow to drive through the tollgate. We know their way do a procession of cars is the safest option to minimize police harassment.
"We will stay in our vehicles throughout".
The celebrities and other activists who turned at the tollgate with their cars were seen waving Nigerians flags from inside the vehicle while singing solidarity songs.
The tollgate was the epicentre of the protests against police brutality and bad governance last year October. Youths who gathered day and night at the tollgate were shot down by soldiers on October 20, 2020, an action which led to loss of lives and properties.
RIP to the lost souls. They will not be forgotten. Kudos to the people who stood for justice against corruption and bad governance.
May the souls of the dead keep resting in peace.
