"There Is No Evidence To Show That Protesters Died" - Lai Mohammed Says

The Federal Government claims that one year after soldiers opened fire at the Lekki tollgate, there is no evidence that any protester killed.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, said this at a news conference on the first anniversary of EndSARS on Wednesday. The minister stated in the transcript of his press conference that the Federal Government has yet to receive any evidence for the alleged killing.

During the EndSARS protest, security personnel killed at least 12 protestors in Lagos State, according to Amnesty International.

The minister, however, dismissed the claim, saying, "One year later, and despite abundant opportunities for the relatives of those supposedly killed and those alleging a massacre to submit evidence, there has been none: There were no bodies, no families, no solid evidence, nothing. Where are the relatives of those allegedly killed at the toll gate? Have they appeared before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry? If not, what is the reason?
