Agitation Of Secessionists and Their Alleged Sponsors: A Case Of Inciting Violence and Distorting Peace

The Attorney General Of The Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami revealed that the sponsors of the Yoruba Activist, Sunday Igboho has been identified. He alleged that a Federal Lawmaker is one of those bankrolling the activist who is currently being detained in Benin Republic.

What Where The Findings Of Abubakar Malami?

According to the Minister of Justice, Chief Sunday Igboho who has 43 bank accounts across 9 banks received the sum of N127 million from his financiers between October 2013 and September 2020, and that the company he (Igboho) allegedly used to collect the money from his financiers is Adesun International Concept Limited.

Abubakar Malami who also accused Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for having a hand in the End SARS protest said his own financiers will soon be revealed.

Sunday Igboho started the agitation for Yoruba Nation after the Farmer-Herder clash in Ibarapa Local Government of Oyo State and this continued along with the agitation of Nnamdi Kanu for Biafra. Knowing that the agitation of these secessionists are being financed by people in Nigeria has made me to ponder on these two questions;

1.Does it mean that there are people who derive joy in inciting violence?

2. How would someone finance and support something that can throw a nation into chaos as a result of distortion of peace?

If truly what Abubakar Malami alleged is true, I think the financiers should be treated the same way Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu are being treated so as to totally silence the agitation. This is indeed a case of inciting violence and distorting the Peace of the Nation and what I want the government to do is to fully identify those bankrolling Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu and persecute them in accordance of the law.

What do you have to say as Abubakar Malami revealed that a Federal Lawmaker is allegedly one of those bankrolling Sunday Igboho?
