United Nations: Foreigners pay 500 Dollars Each For anti-Yoruba protests - Prof. Akintoye

The chairman of the Indigenous Peoples' Association of Nigeria, Prof. Banji Akintoye, has accused the Federal Government of sponsoring protests against the attacks on the UN headquarters on Friday.

He alleged that the Nigerian government had started recruiting foreigners living in the United States with $ 500 per person to present Pro-Buhari and One Nigeria March before the United Nations in New York, USA.

Indigenous peoples of Southern and Central Nigeria under NINAS have previously announced that they will hold a "major" protest at the UN headquarters tomorrow.

"The final phase of the NINAS Million-Man Freedom March will take place on September 24, 2021, the day President Muhammadu Buhari addresses the 76th United Nations General Assembly," the group said.

They organized a "March for Human Rights" on September 14 and 15 in front of the UN General Assembly in New York.

They said the protests would expose the world to "crimes against humanity, attacks on the rights of journalists, freedom of expression and other crimes led by the Buhari government in Nigeria".

NINAS also calls for "holding a regional referendum so that citizens can decide on their country".

The group also described Nigeria's 1999 constitution as a scam against the people of the South and Central, saying it was "established without the consent of the people".

Akintoye, in a statement by NINAS Director of Public Communications, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, said, “Irrespestive of the material and financial superiorities of these Lions, there’s no way they can defeat United Foxes in a democracy.

“The Friday Grand March in New York shall be historic, hence, the Nigerian government is jittery. The ring leader of government officials and a top Lagos journalist are now in New York to start hiring black people who will pretend as Nigerians to stage a Pro-Buhari and One Nigeria Protest to counter NINAS on Friday.

“But we refuse to be rattled. We shall not be intimidated. No Oppressor has ever triumphed against the collective will of the people. The people are the government and power belongs to the people. The people makes the Constitution.

“The sovereignty belongs to the people. Our own strenght lies in the hands of the people. Therefore, Our March shall be people’s centered. It shall be peaceful as usual.

"All South and Central-Belt people in the United States and Canada are invited to gather in large numbers on Friday, September 24, 2021 in front of the UN General Assembly in New York as we demonstrate and expose in in front of the world, the rape of our ancestors and the theft of our property and power from the Fulani government of Nigeria. ”

NINAS is a coalition of NGOs in South and Central Nigeria with Ilana Omo Oodua representing the Yoruba Land, Niger National Assembly representing the South and South East and the Renaissance Movement Central representing the Central Region.
