It is no longer news that some youths and celebrities in Nigeria have been planning to hold a year anniversary of the ENDSARS protest. This was slated to hold today at Lekki tollgate in Lagos State. For this reason, two men who were allegedly protesters, got arrested and dragged into a black maria by men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) in Lagos State for being present at the protest ground.
In this article, we shall be looking at reasons why the two alleged ENDSARS memorial protesters got dragged into a black maria.
1. The major reason why the two protesters got dragged into a black maria is because they disobeyed the law which states that no one should come out for any protest. What this implies is that the two alleged protesters have defiled the order from above and might eventually face the law squarely.2. The second reason why the two alleged ENDSARS anniversary Protesters got dragged into a black maria is because they were not with identity cards. According to what the BBC News Pidgin's Correspondent said, the Police Officers informed those present at Lekki tollgate this morning to hang their identity cards round their neck. Obviously, the two alleged protesters were not with their identity cards like others who were with the Officers during the incident.
It can also be said that the reason why one among the two alleged protesters got dragged into a black maria is because he was holding a banner with an ENDSARS inscription. This is implicating because people have been forewarned about the Lagos State Government's stance concerning the protest.
