According to a video that was published by the Punch Newspaper online this evening on Twitter, the Southern Kaduna Community, has protested the killings occuring in their community, as they accused the Military of compromise.
It was reported that the protest, was led by Reverend Victor Yahaya, who happens to be the Youth Christian Association of Nigeria leader of Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
While he was talking, he said they wanted to tell the world the bitter truth that is ongoing in southern Kaduna because, truth is life and where there is no truth, there is no life there. And that it is only the truth that can set them free and when they know the truth, they will have a better position to take.
Reverend Victor Yahaya claimed that, whenever killing takes place in their community, the military men will label it farmers and herders clash, whereas, they are no longer in rainy season and yet, the assailants still do kill people unreasonably.
He said, “Mr Chairman, Sir, we are here to let you know of the injustice that is going on in Zango Kataf Local Government. We have discovered that the military that was posted has taken sides and they are no longer doing the right thing that needs to be done. We are here to tell the world, is that professional ? Is that the work of the military?
Further talking, he said, "We have discovered that cows are more important than human lives, that is what military told us. Whenever a cow is killed or there is an issue involving a cow, the military people will come and arrest people. They will arrest our youths but, they have not arrested those killing us. We want to preach in all local governments in Kaduna State."
In conclusion, he said, "We want answers. By their actions, we will say that the military is supporting those that are killing us."
