Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu has spoken out about the invasion of his palace during the EndSARS protest.

On October 21, 2020, after the EndSARS protest had degenerated into crisis in some states including Lagos, an unruly group of protesters broke into the palace of the Oba of Lagos located at Iga Idungaran Lagos island, despite the presence of soldiers and attempted to vandalise the premises.

However, military officers intervened and the Oba was rescued from the palace, while the building around the premises were vandalized. The Oba's staff of office was also seized. The staff of office was later said to have been found.

The monarch while commissioning the remodelled Glover Memorial Hall today Wednesday, March 3, claimed that the EndSARS protesters stole $2million/ N17 million from his palace

Many Nigerians have reacted to his statement, see reactions
