We Arrested ENDSARS Protesters At Lekki Today Because They Held Machetes And Other Weapons- Lagos CP

The Lagos State Commissioner of Lagos, Odumosu has reacted to the arrest of ENDSARS protesters by the Nigerian police at Lekki tollgate this morning.

Today, thousands of Nigerian youths have decided to massively observe a memorial protest for several lives lost during the ENDSARS protests last year. In the same vain, they are using the opportunity to express their displeasure and dissatisfaction over the bad governance, lack of infrastructural development and security challenges ravaging our beloved country.

While these people were shouting and singing happily this morning, the troops of the Nigerian police smartly pulled up to stop the protest. They also arrested the protesters who were seen at the Lekki tollgate for allegedly violating the rules for a peaceful and organized protest.

However, the honourable Commissioner of Police in Lagos State has revealed that those who were arrested at Lekki tollgate today were spotted with machetes and other dangerous weapons. He added that the protesters should have been organised and together with a leader, so that the leader will be held responsible if there is any breach of rules.

It's the right of every Nigerian to protest peacefully but when it comes to be possessing charms and weapons, it's totally against the law and such persons must be prosecuted quickly. What are your thoughts about this?
