OPINION: Why There Should Be No Sympathy For Banditry Activists In Nigeria

Banditry activities is no longer a new incident in Nigeria. It has imposed a lot of sufferings and unpleasantries to the country, as another of such incident has surfaced online some few hours ago, of which it was reported that dozens of people at Goronyo market located in the Eastern part of Sokoto State, were allegedly killed by bandits on Sunday night.

This same incident was also recorded in October 8, where 22 traders were reportedly killed at Uguwan Lalle market in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal confirmed the incident that happened in Goronyo market on Monday, when he hosted the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-General Faruk Yahaya, at the Sokoto Government House.

President Muhammadu Buhari has responded to the unpleasant attack. In his condolence message, the president, in a statement issued by his media aid, Garba Shehu, said the days of bandits were numbered because the military capabilities of the Nigerian Forces are now boosted through the acquisition and deployment of advanced military equipments. There is a need for the Federal Government to flag-out the security challenges affecting the country.

Life has became so cheap to the heartless and wicked people of the world, who have no sympathy nor conscience in shedding a fellow man's blood.

In my opinion, Nigeria should not spare anyone who are taking part in banditry activities because it had been one of the strongest reason why Nigeria is going backward instead of moving forward. This is because when there is an alarming rate of banditry attacks in a country, almost everything will be stagnant. I think it is time that when anyone is caught as an agent of violence, they should not be spared. Anyone caught in such act should be instantly killed because they are inflictor of pain to the general public.

President Muhammadu Buhari, therefore, appealed to Nigerians not to lost hope in Nigeria because his administration is more determined more than previous administrations, to protect Nigerians from murderous criminal gangs that have no sympathy for the unaffordable human life.
