2 Things Fulani Herdsmen Did As They Destroy The Farmland Of Poor Farmers In Rivers State

More than 200 women in the Ogba-Egbema-Andoni Council of Rivers State have rioted against the invasion of their farmlands by herdsmen.

They are angered by the destruction caused by the herdsmen and their cattle on their farms.

Displaying posters, the angry women blocked the gate of the council headquarters at Omoku, demanding that herdsmen must vacate their farmlands.

Most of the posters said "We are afraid of going to the farm. " Life is difficult now. ”

But actually they are two things the Fulani herdsmen did as they destroy their farmland

According to Sahara reporters

1. They raped their women In the bush

2. They killed most of the women with knives

The women leader of Obirikom was angry saying they have suffered too long from the herders

She noted that they have brought the matter to the police several times but nothing has changed yet.

She also said

Herdsmen have been going to our farms, destroying our yams and other crops. Enough is enough, even if you do not eat garri or cassava, your children and mothers do.

We hate the activities of the herdsmen, We plead with the federal and state governments to assist us in cautioning the herdsmen. We do not like the way they operate in our area, but we do not want to take the law into our hands,” she said.

On my own opinion I think this herdsmen should be driven from that community

The federal government should do something about this, cause this is oppression, how will womens suffer in the farm and herdsmen we destroy all their hard works, it is not fair the government most do something about that, before they will take laws into there hands.
