Masquerade custodian, three others remanded over murder in Osun State

One Chief Kayode Esuleke, his son, Ifasola and two others have been remanded over the alleged killing of a man named Moshood Salawudeen in a mosque in Osogbo, Osun State.

It would be remembered that masquerade worshippers in Osogbo reportedly attacked a mosque known as Kamorudeen Central Mosque at Oluode Aranyin , on June 27, 2021, when a prayer organized for Nigeria was ongoing.

The masquerade custodian, his son and the two others who go by the names Kola Adeosun and Akeem Idowu, were arraigned in court by the state prosecution department on the 5th of August this year. However, the hearings could not continue due to the non-appearance of the defendants in court.

They were arraigned over a 13-count charge, including murder, malicious damage, assault, breach of public peace, to which they pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Judge, Ayo Oyebiyi, has therefore ordered that the suspects should be remanded in the Correctional Centre at Ilesha. He then adjourned the matter till September 21,2021, for possible consideration of bail.
