In a recent post made by a popular page on Twitter, it alleged that the judge who is meant to pass a verdict as regards to the '25 percent of votes in FCT' case against Bola Tinubu, refused to show up in court. In its words, it said this, "We have just been informed that the Federal High Court judge who was supposed to pass judgment on the 25% in FCT against Bola Ahmed Tinubu and INEC refused to show up in court today. Sad one for democracy, the writing is getting clearer".
However, Inibehe Effiong while reacting emphasized that it not possible for the Federal High Court to rule on such matter because it has no jurisdiction over the matter.
"Of what benefit is this case when the 25% issue is being litigated at the Court of Appeal? You expect the Federal High Court to rule on a matter it doesn’t have jurisdiction over? Let’s also assume that the Federal High Court has jurisdiction (it does not) and rules against Tinubu, what orders will it make? Can the Federal High Court nullify the election when there are pending petitions at the Court of Appeal? If it does, will Tinubu not appeal against it? This case is a very needless distraction"
