Parade protest

EndSARS Memorial: Why The Memorial Should Not Be Held By The Nigerian Youths.

It has been speculated that the Nigerian youths are planing to stage a protest on the 20th of this month across the country in order to remember how youths were allegedly killed during the last year's EndSars protest at Lekki toll gate in Lagos and other parts of the country.

Based on that note, I really think that the EndSars memorial should not be held because of some reasons.

First is to avoid bloodshed: This is the main reason why I really think that the memorial should not be held. The Nigerian Police recently warned that no form of protest is allowed on that very day, so if youths go ahead with the protest, there may probably be a clash between the security operatives and the Nigerian youths, which might eventually cause some people to die. So the best and possible way to avoid any kind of clash or bloodshed is just to cancel the memorial.

Secondly, to avoid destruction of properties: This is another major reason why the EndSars memorial should not be held. We all can remember what happened during the last year's EndSars protest, how some states, most especially Lagos State lost billions of Naira. In Lagos State for instance, the Lekki toll gate was burnt down by the angry youths, tens of BRT buses were also destroyed during the protest.

If this EndSars memorial is held, hoodlums may use that opportunity to destroy public and private properties. So, to avoid this type of thing, the best thing to do now is for the to cancel this EndSars memorial.

We all are really not happy with the way things are going in Nigeria presently, but we have hope that tomorrow is going to be better for all of us.

I know that many will kick against what I have just said here, but the fact still remains that we are all entitled to our own opinions and I have just aired mine.
