As More Nigerians Join Protest In London, Read What This American Economist Said About The Protest

According to reports, fresh protesters stormed the Abuja House in London where President Buhari is reportedly staying for his Medical Treatment this morning again. The protest started yesterday when Omoyele Sowore, Reno Omokri and others stormed the building, demanding that Buhari return to Nigeria to get his treatment in Nigerian hospitals. The protest has now entered the second day and this time around, hundreds of people have now joined the protest.

This protest has gotten the attention of An American Applied Economist, Steve Hankie. Steve Hankie is an Economist who works at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. This American man has now reacted to the ongoing protest of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, demanding that the President return back to Nigeria for his treatment.

Steve took to his twitter page to share a post where he condemns the Medical trip of President Buhari to the United Kingdom. He said that instead of addressing Nigeria’s crumbling healthcare system (which he claims that it ranks 142nd out of 195 countries according to Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation), he jets off to London whenever he needs a check-up. Also, Steve Hankie also reacted to the claim of Governor El Rufai that the numbers of people that turned up for the protest was staggering low. Recall that Governor El Rufai of Katsina State had shared a tweet which people believed that he used to mock the attendance of those who went to Protest against Buhari in London. Governor El Rufai tweets ‘Massive Protest indeed’ with lots of laughing emojis.

Many people believed that he was mocking the number of people who turned out for the protest but the American Economist, Steve Hank has now shared a video evidence to dispute the claims of Governor El Rufai, showing him how hundreds of protesters have not joined the movement in London.

Steve Hanks tweets that ‘@elrufai, the Governor of Nigeria’s Kaduna State, is sowing misinformation. He claims that ‘nobody’ attended the #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon protests when hard evidence suggests otherwise. El –Rufai is trying to run cover for Sleepy @MBuhari’s inexcusable silence’

Steve Hanke tackles the claim of the Governor El Rufai that people did not join the protest in London and he also provides video evidence where hundreds of protesters could be seen chanting #BuhariMustGo with placards. Click here to see video.

In another post Steve Hanks says ‘Contrary to @elrufai’s claims that nobody showed up to the #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon Protests, watch as a full crowd of protesters chant #BuhariMustGo outside of sleepy @MBuhari’s UK Residence’.
