EndSARS Protest Has Reduced The Morale Of The Police Officers - Acting IGP, Usman Baba Alkali

Acting Inspector General of police, Usman Baba Alkali has explained the negative effects that followed the EndSARS protest, and how it is affecting the police force.

He said that after the ban of Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), they have not been able to replace them with SWAT. He said that this has posed a threat to their normal way of handling violence.

He also said that the morale of the officers of the police force have been reduced following the aftermath of the EndSARS protest.

Usman Baba Alkali said this during a presidential briefing held by the Presidential Communication Team at the State House, Abuja.

Recall that EndSARS protest took place in 2020. One of the aftermath of the protest was destruction of lives and properties. You can recall that there were looting, stealing among other ill acts by hoodlums who saw the protest as an opportunity to cart away with private and public properties.
