According to a video shared by Sahara Reporters, some angry Nigerian youths protesting in the US took laws into their hands by slapping a top government official who came to their midst to address them during a protest. The top government official was seen holding his cheek after an angry protester landed him a slap on the face.
After watching this video, we have decided to adduce reasons why the said protesters need to be punished immediately. We will also be analyzing what exactly they did wrong.
Here is a screenshot;
Why should these protesters be punished?.
The first thing that readily comes to mind after watching this video is, whether it is right for these angry protesters to be punished for slapping a top government official in the US?. I think they took the law into their hands by raising their hands on a top government official. Their action can only be interpreted as an assault on the government official. I think they need to be punished immediately.
Here are the reasons why Buhari needs to punish these protesters.
1• They disrespected Nigeria.
The action of the protesters translates to disrespect of their fatherland. The protesters should have continued to argue with the top government official instead of raising a hand on an innocent man who believes in one Nigeria. They should have challenged him in a civilized way rather than slapping him in public. I think President Buhari needs to act swiftly and bring those that humiliated the top government official to book.
2• The Protesters Took laws into their hands.
The president needs to use those protesters as scapegoats to teach others who intend to humiliate government officials. The protesters took law into their own hands by slapping a man who did nothing wrong to them. I think the President needs to act now and ensure that they are punished.
