AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State has condemned the abominable crime committed against humanity by some unknown Hoodlums. Following the news on the death of an undergraduate student in Unilorin, the governor has joined protesters to demand that security agencies bring her killers to Justice.
Nigeria news reported that Miss Oladije Omowumi Blessing until her demise, was a 300-level student at the department of Agriculture in the University of Ilorin. According to reports, the deceased was raped and killed afterwards by some unknown people.
Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye representing the governor during a press briefing stated that the case is shocking, condemnable, heart breaking and unacceptable. He mentioned that such attitude is antisocial and despicable in the society.
He therefore called on peace and unity among people in the state to aid the fight against such despicable crime and others. He urged Security agencies to investigate the case and bring the mindless perpetrators to book.
He appealed that anyone with viable and authentic information relating to the case, should co-operate with security operatives to facilitate investigations.
The governor further expressed his condolences with the family of the deceased, coursemates, housemates and the University community at large. He prayed that God will give them the fortitude to bear the loss and that the soul of the departed will rest in peace.
The governor in his message stated that "I hereby send stringent warning to criminals to refrain from committing crime as the government will not tolerate indiscriminate violence against any person, much less the girl child.
" Enough is Enough! The security operatives will apprehend the criminals and Justice must prevail" he added.
