Why Would A Man Go To An End SARS Memorial Protest Meant To Be Peaceful With Charms And Cutlass?

Thousands of Nigerian youths have taken to the streets to commemorate the Lekki toll gate massacre, which occurred a year ago. They have taken to the streets to express their outrage over the alleged killings of Nigerians who demanded justice for those brutalized by SARS.

Security operatives came out today to monitor the END SARS memorial and ensure that laws and order were obeyed. The presence of these security operatives would go a long way in ensuring that there isn't a repeat of 2020 incident.

However, the unthinkable unfolded before our eyes when a protester was apprehended with a cutlass and charms. This was supposed to be a peaceful protest, so I'm not sure why he went there with a cutlass and charms.

This young man's fear is a clear indication that not everyone at the protest site is there with good intentions. Some may be present to hijack the protest, as some hoodlums did last year. The presence of police officers on the scene is actually doing more good than harm.
