Why I Use Abetiaja Cap Every time - Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has explained the reason he uses Abetiaja cap every time. Abetiaja is a cap which covers the two ears. He stated this recently on BBC Yoruba

Speaking on why he normally wear Abetiaja cap, he disclosed that Abetiaja is a way of sending a message to people. He said the cap was sown in such a way that it looks like dog's ears. He stated that the way he wear his Abetiaja cap usually symbolises a message. 

He further revealed that when the way he wears his cap symbolises different messages on different occasions. 

He disclosed that a crown should not be something that one should wear all the time because it is a traditional symbol. He stated that many monarchs have turned crown into fashion. 

Alaafin disclosed that a crown shows the importance of king. He stated that Yoruba monarch wear crown for the purpose of culture and tradition.

The Alaafin of Oyo in Yoruba mythology and history is said to be one of Oduduwa grandsons who later became Kings, forming the bedrock of the Yoruba Civilization.
