What you should know about the proposed Akon city in Uganda and its new stellar-currency

Senegalese-American singer, Akon is at it again. The well celebrated musician is set to build Akon City in Uganda by 2036.

According to report by Nyce Radio, the Ugandan government is ready to give him 1 square mile of land to commence the project. That is over 650 acres of land mass.

This is going to be a smart city, one of a kind and very unique. Some of the feature of this futuristic city is that it is going to use a different currency as means of legal tender. The city will use a new stellar-based cryptocurrency known as Akoin.

Though the Akon city in the musician’s home country, Senegal is yet to kick off and yet he is proposing another one for Uganda.

Many people have argued if this is a wise decision for Uganda’s economy and investment. Charity they say begins at home.
