Abeokuta stand still for Another Year of Festive Celebration

Egba people are the foremost settlers in the history of Abeokuta with attractive traditions and culture which was inherited from the forefathers who are, Gbagura, Shodeke, Lisabi, Ibara. Abeokuta was among three senatorial District which is Ogun Central and it has Abeokuta-North, Abeokuta South, Ifo, Odeda, Ewekoro and Obafemi-Owode respectively.

The ancient City of Abeokuta was today Friday the 26th February 2021 witness another Festive Celebration which is called "ODUN OSA" meaning festival of the gods.

This festive Celebration happened annually, which mostly involved women appealing to the gods to allow success, love and peaceful atmosphere reign in the land of Egba, it includes various rites and sacrifices from shrines with the gods decorated in beautiful fabrics.

The movement and showcasing of the beautiful gods that was allow to be carrying by dedicated women on their head, took place from Lafenwa to Sapon crossing Ijaye towards Iyana- Mutuary down to Ajebo road.


People were celebrating and rejoicing and some even made customize t- shirt to mark the celebration.
