Honey is a sweet liquefied substance that is gotten from honey bee. It is a natural sweetener that can be used in place of sugar. Since it is nutritious, so many people use it in their daily activities. Some manufacturers have taken advantage of this to produce fake honey. It is very important to know the type of honey you are buying. The texture and color of the honey can tell whether it is fake or original. I will give ways you can use to test if your honey is original.

Below are them.

1. Water test method.

In this method, you will just put small amount of honey inside a cup of water. You will look carefully to observe the movement of the honey. If the honey mix with the water, it is adulterated and if you notice the honey settles at the bottom, it is original.

2. Flame test.

Original honey is flammable therefore it attracts fire. In this flame test method, you will use a match stick for the experiment. Dip the match stick inside honey and strike it. If the match stick lights up, you can say that the honey is original. If it doesn't lights up, it is a fake honey.

3. Thumb method.

In this test, your thumb will come into play in order to ascertain the originality of the honey. The honey is said to be original when it stays for a long time on your thumb without spreading or pouring. Fake honey will spread out on your hand.

4.The honey-fire-test.

You will use a candle wick and matches to carry out this experiment. You will rub honey on the candle wick and strike a match stick on it. If the candle wick lights up, then the honey is original. When the candle wick doesn't lights up, then the honey is fake.
